As many of you may
be aware, Governor Haley Barbour of Mississippi
has put out an urgent request for doctors and
nurses to help meet the needs of the citizens
of Mississippi. If you are a nurse and would
like to volunteer to help victims of America's
worst natural disaster in memory please contact
Ms. Owens of the Mississippi Board of Nursing.
Leave your contact information and your call will
be returned. The phone number is 601-944-4840.
At this time no agencies
are prepared to send volunteer works in to New
Orleans and the conditions are the ground there
are just too dangerous. We will update this
information as soon as we have some other word.
If you are unable to
volunteer your time and be on the ground in MS
or LA, please consider making a cash donation
for victim relief. NAPNES has set-up a special
fund that will be used to support practical and
vocational nurses that can volunteer their time
on the ground to help these victims. Funds
may also be used to support the American Red Cross
and other reputable victim relief organizations.
In all cases donations will be made in the name
of NAPNES and our membership of LPNs, LVNs, RNs,
and students. To make your contribution
