  • Increase and engage membership.
  • Develop current and new state-based membership.
  • Provide on-line continuing education opportunities for practitioners and educators.

2010-2011 GOALS

  • Implement strategies to increase membership.
  • Evaluate current constituent state membership and member status with national organization.
  • Implement strategies to develop and increase state associations.
  • Develop web-based resources to enhance participation of NAPNES members.
  • Create continuing education courses in both JPN and on-line for LP/VNs and PN educators.
  • Develop innovative, evidenced-based educational standards in collaboration with other professional associations, lay public, employers and state regulators.
  • Forge partnerships with key stakeholders.
  • Develop educational materials promoting public policy and regulation of practical nursing.
  • Engage PN schools, LP/VNs, and state boards of nursing to work with NAPNES to promote practical nurses and nursing.
  • Create continuing educational opportunities for LP/VNs using media that enhances professional practice and a desire for life-long learning.
