NAPNES members attending the annual convention
can expect to see some very important issues being
addressed at the business meetings. Some
of the planned presentations for adoption by the
membership will include:
- Adoption of National PN Education Standards
- Adoption of National PN Education Curricula
- Free Standing Vocational and Technical
Curricula
- College Based / Partnership 1+1 Programs
- Bylaws changes including
- Membership re-organization
- Voting for Officers and Board Members
- Elections of Officers and Board Members
- NAPNES Transition to Online Services
- Online Membership Management
- Online Community Services
- Online Continuing Education
- Practical Nursing Certification
- Updates to Pharmacology Certification
Standards
- Research and possible addition of new
certifications
- Student to clinician transition research and
standards development
In addition as always we will have business from
the floor. Some business items mentioned
above will be for informational purposes and do
not require a vote from the membership, others
will require approval by the general membership.
This business agenda will make the 2007 national
convention one of the most important PN meetings
since the professions inception and recognition
in the 1940's. Make sure you make your plans
to attend and let your voice be heard.
NAPNES is evaluating the possibility and desirability
to provide some parts of the convention via online
attendance. Known as a webinar, online participants
can see meetings as they happen, ask questions
and virtually participate in the program.
At this time we do not anticipate that virtual
attendees will be able to vote on issues, but
we are evaluating this possibility. |
